Festival Photographers wanted!

Documentation Brief: Alice Desert Festival 

The Alice Desert Festival is coming and we need your help to document it!  This year we are seeking two photographers, one lead and one assistant. There are also opportunities for two or three volunteer photographers, who will be directed by the lead photographer.

We want to capture our artists creating and performing, mingling with audiences and other artists. We want to see our audiences responding and participating, eating, drinking and dancing. We want images that capture a moment and tell a story; images that represent Alice Desert Festival and all the in-between moments that make our Festival unique.

We are looking for two photographers who are experienced in documenting arts events and festivals. This is a great opportunity for photographers to build their portfolio with a range of visual and live art imagery.

HOW TO APPLY

Submit a portfolio link or selection of up to 10 images to [email protected] (subject: ADF Documentation) by COB Tuesday 7 August. We want to see images that capture movement, communicate scale, are well lit and illustrate a good sense of composition.

You must be available for the Festival key dates (7-16 September) and other times as negotiated in the Festival season (10 Aug – 10 Oct). You will be required to use your own photography equipment. You will have unlimited access to all Festival events.

Festival photographers will be invited to share an Alice Desert Festival Dropbox folder where photos can be uploaded to appropriate event folders. These will need to be uploaded in the 12 hours following each event. Please ensure all photos include the event name and photography credit in the file name.

OWNERSHIP

All photographs, taken as part of Alice Desert Festival Festival 2012 documentation will become the property of both Red Hot Arts Central Australia (RHACA) and the photographer, post Festival. The photographers may not use the photos in instances where they may become entitled to financial benefits without written approval from RHACA.

CREDITING

Photographers will always be credited when the photographs are reproduced and used by Red Hot Arts Central Australia.

Similarly, Alice Desert Festival must always be credited when the photographer uses the photographs post Festival. Photographers are also required to acknowledge the work of the artists they document when publishing post Festival.

Any third party usage must be approved by RHACA. Artists wishing to use or reproduce photography taken during the Festival are required to seek written consent from RHACA.

FEES

Festival photographers will be responsible for the documentation of up to 50 festival events and will paid a fee upon the delivery of images.

Lead Photographer Fee: $1750
Assistant Photographer Fee: $1000
