Common Ground

At the core of the Alice Desert Festival is the community. Common Ground is a place to celebrate this town’s unique character. Watch, listen, converse and learn. Participate and be inspired by sharing ideas and stories.

Come and join us for a diverse and engaging program of discussions, workshops, performances and activities.  Come and share your stories in photos, words, sound and video at the ABC Open tent and get water wise with Alice Water Smart.  Show us your hottest moves in the Dance Off and participate in the action all weekend long. Pick up a hula hoop, a book or just relax and enjoy your weekend in the comfy lounge environment.

 2.30pm Water Smart Gardening workshop

The weather is beautiful and it’s time to garden. But do you know how to water your garden here in the arid zone? Our research has shown that on average, people in Alice Springs give their gardens twice the water they need. Benefits of a water smart garden include healthier plants which have deeper roots and are more resilient. Alice Water Smart wants to help you become a water smart gardener by answering your questions, sharing tips, prizes, and watering schedules. Proudly presented by Alice Water Smart.

See you there!
